One of Cradle's ongoing projects in Albania is the House Building Project. This project was set up to improve the quality of liffe for people living below the poverty line in the region of Shkoder, northern Albania.

The House Building Project began in January 2004. The initial aim of the project was to provide shelther for homeless families who had migrated from the northern mountain regions of Albania in search of basic human rights such as, food, shelther and safety. Before leaving their homes each if the familieshad lived in an enviornment where they were in constant fear for their lives and were completely cut off from all civilisation. Due to the remoteness of the mountain villages, a number of the children have grown up with special needs, such as epilepsy and other physical disabilities. As well as having a lack of basic facilities they could not afford to travel to the nearest town to get the required medical assistance.

Today this project continues to build homes for families most in need in the shkoder region.
